Reviews about Valentin's Clothiers & Custom Tailoring

Valentin and Adam are true men of integrity and professionalism. Always a treat to stop by and even more so to leave with something elegant and tasteful! Gives me that "kid in a candy shop" experience.

I have always been someone that has liked to look their best. I wear a suit every day and have shopped at more than my fair share of clothiers around the country. I was really happy to see that another men's clothing store had finally opened in Rochester. I happened across Valentin's custom tailor and clothier several months ago. As I looked through the window I was happy to see that they had a large selection of suits and accessories. As I chatted with the owner and having a love of clothing I decided to market the store in the community I initially bought shoes from them which I was happy with. I had also wanted to give them the opportunity to make me some custom clothing to show what the store was capable of doing to help market the store. I had worked with Adam, the salesman and he took great care in ordering exactly what I wanted. Valentine came out and started to take my measurements for my custom suits and shirts. I was a little bit surprised when the custom measurements only took a few minutes. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and continued on. I purchased an off the rack suit for an event that was coming up soon.Valentin measured it up and the suit was back from the tailor in a few days . This is where things started to go down hill. The suit looked worse that when I first tried it on. The pants were short, the back of the collar rolled the jacket and it no longer fit as it did originally. I have no idea what he did to this suit. I was speechless, Adam, the salesman, by the look on his face also saw that it was a terrible fit. Then the bomb dropped, Valentin said it looked perfect and tried to send me out in the community with a pat on the back. The was just a prelude for the main event. A number of weeks went by and my custom suits arrived. I tried on the suits that Valentine " the master tailor. lol" had measured me for. These suits were not wearable. The jackets were at least one size too big, the pants were also very baggy and it looked like a Zoot suit. It was ridiculously big and he said it could be fixed. I refused to pay him for the suits and I would do so when I had a proper fit. He would not relent and he kept saying he could fix it. Valentine was insistent and sent the suits back to China and when they returned after another month it was still way off. As a tailor he can't even measure properly for a pre-made suit much less than make a proper custom made suit. The experience I had personally and the inferior finished product of several customers suits that I witnessed, I could no longer in good conscience market for the store and tendered my resignation. My advice to anyone interested in visiting Valentines is to run as fast as you can in the other direction.
