I walked in several days after Christmas to exchange an item for a different size, knowing full well that stock changes at stores like these and that I couldn't necessarily guarantee I could walk out with exactly the same thing. First thing I did was walk up to the register and say "hello, I'd like to exchange this and see if you have a different size." The person at the register, who seemed vaguely in charge of the whole operation, feigned annoyance and retorted pretty loudly something to the effect of "Oh, you're going to make me hate you!" While I understand it was probably meant as a joke, I personally wouldn't lead off with that if the roles were reversed, and I was interested in keeping a customer around. We worked it out. I still had all the original tags, and a receipt. I could have easily taken a gift card and spent the money on their website, or given it to a friend. We walked around for a while trying to find a good candidate for exchange, and the rest of the staff was fairly friendly and relatively more helpful. In summary, try and avoid doing anything complicated here unless you don't mind a little confrontation.

Really great place for cheap but name brand outdoor and athletic gear. It's the same company that owns TJ Maxx and Marshalls, so I believe they wait for models to go out of style and then buy up overstock, so you probably won't find this year's stuff, but you'll find last year's for 20-50% less than online and 60-80% less than the original new price. I got a mountain hardware ghost lite pro wind jacket for 40$ a week ago and it's amazing. My girlfriend got some excellent asics running shoes for about 45$ as well. I doubt their camping (stoves/tents/bags) gear is that great, but well worth it for any hikers/bikers/runners to get some cheap but quality gear!
